Buying A Car!

So, it's Thursday.  Haven't quite been brave enough to post this on Twitter or anywhere else publicly so in effect I am talking to myself - no change there then.  Maybe tomorrow!  Eeeek!

Today we bought a car.  In the past, cars have been all about style and gorgeousness to me.  Today, first and foremost, it was all about the dog.  It should have been all about the Other Half but no.  Can HuffingtonBear get in and out safely?  Is there enough room for him?  Can he see out of the window?  Will he be comfy?  Thankfully the answer to those questions was 'yes'.  Of secondary concern were the following questions:  Is the car comfy for humans?  Will it get OH (Other Half) safely back and forth to new job every day?  Is it the right colour? (ie not pillar box red or sky-blue-pink) and finally ... Is there a spare key?  Less important and more boring questions relating to reliability, service history, whether it was economical etc were all answered positively so the nice man at the local garage on the hill took a deposit and is 'getting it ready' for us.

Whilst the nice man said this entails doing some kind of inspection, servicing it, giving it an additional clean and valet, I'm pretty sure that the equally nice mechanic-y type chap will move it round the back,  wave a duster at it, pop the bonnet, try and get the sticky mark off the dash and then put it back.  Bless!

Interestingly we initially went to a main dealer and looked at a similar car, older and with higher mileage for the same price.  The main dealer man (with egg on his tie and trainer socks with his 'school shoes') desperately tried to impress by pointing out to OH that I was probably always right about everything and that if I liked the car then he should probably buy it 'wink wink'.  Flattery Mr School Shoes and Trainer Socks gets you absolutely nowhere.  I actually felt a bit sick.  We are therefore buying the car from the nice man from the showroom on the hill.  Hoorah!

I do know that HuffingtonBear will love it.  Job done!

Hello there, nice to meet you :)

So here I am <takes a bow and waves>.  I have been meaning to do this for ages.  Blog that is, not chat (I chat daily without help or being asked).

It is absolutely freezing today, here just outside dear old Londinium in the UK.  Winter is clinging on by its fingertips and refusing to go away and poor old Spring is being pushed further away.  At the weekend we had daffodils on the sideboard and snow in the garden and it's almost April.  Madness!

Our Battersea rescue dog who is fondly referred to as HuffingtonBear (HB) is absolutely desperate for a walk today.  I would prefer to curl up on the sofa all day and put a fire on but he is pleading with his big brown eyes, so I'll be off now.  Just a quick introduction really for now.  Blog you later, Julesy x
